Hmmm.. i've been thinking abt this.
What does my image say and should i care? I've been sick n tired about judging eyes for a while now but who am i to blame others when they base their judgements on image? Not everyone knows me and certainly not everyone cares to find out how i really am besides making assumptions. Again, who am i to blame?
Then again, only one side of my life is published and certainly not everyone is accepting of my lifestyle here. Perhaps my responsibility does not just stop once i step down from leadership... perhaps it goes on and on bcos i am marked as a leader from before. Do i still owe people an explanation? I do what i think is right... and that friend is right, it is my relationship with God and only God can convict me if I am pleasing him or not. That is the question i ask myself.
U know Jesus hung out with sinners and so many judged him. He is the son of man, cannot hang out with this kinda ppl one... cannot go this place... cannot do that... so many things were unacceptable in the eyes of public. Jesus even defied tradition and did "work" or rather worked miracles on the Sabbath. This is against religionistic norms but working in the prompting of the Spirit. I bet Jesus would have skipped church just to go out and do the work of his father's calling. The son of man would have skipped church to save sinners, to share love... yada yada. The funny thing is, the very people who were appointed followers of God (pharisees) were the very ones that ridiculed Jesus to the point of putting Him to death. How ironic... but that was god's will for redemption.
If i were to benchmark myself against Jesus today, would i be wrong to go against societal norms and follow the spirit instead? Perhaps what i need to think about then is how closely am i hearing from God and following His instructions. Jesus heard and obeyed no matter what others said. Would i be able to do that?
That is the question.
WWJD? What can Per do?
I pray for thy word and will to be clear and the boldness to step forth in faith. Amen.
